Light scattering method

Temperature range:           0-90 °C
Pressure range:                 0-2000 kPa

A stainless steel cell equipped with two windows and a magnetic mixer. A mixture of known composition is inserted into the cell. A small laser beam is directed through the windows and the sample to the detector that measures the intensity of light. The observations can be also be made visually. The temperature of the cell is changed and recorded simultaneously with the intensity of light passing through the sample. A low intensity of the light passing through the sample indicates a liquid-liquid split, while a high intensity corresponds to one liquid phase.
